"Forever" is a song written by Mariah Carey for her fourth studio album, Daydream. The protagonist of this 1950s-inspired romantic ballad knows that her relationship is over, but that the boy will be hers forever in her mind. American Idol contestant Kristy Lee Cook sang this song on the show during the Top 7 week of Season 7, on the Mariah Carey themed week. Cook was eliminated for her performance. The song remains one of Carey's most emotional and heart-felt ballads.
