"Daughters" is the third single from Heavier Things, the 2003 studio album from Blues singer-songwriter, John Mayer. The critically-acclaimed song won numerous awards, including the 2005 Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 47th Grammy Awards. Lyrically, "Daughters" is an admonition to fathers (and to a lesser extent mothers) to nurture their daughters in their childhood, because the relationship will affect their future relationships with men as adults. In 2005, Mayer converted the song into an all-out blues song with his group John Mayer Trio on the live album, Try!, stripping away the acoustic elements the song had become known for, although not similar version to the "Electric Guitar Mix" of the song as included on the single's re-release. The music video is a grayscale video of Mayer playing the guitar and singing the song in a dark studio, intercut between scenes of a girl (i.e., a "daughter"). The video clip, directed by Mario Sorrenti, features the Australian Supermodel Gemma Ward.

DANCE WITH MY FATHER ~ LUTHER VANDROSS

"Dance with My Father" is the title track from the 2003 Luther Vandross album Dance with My Father. It was written by Vandross and Richard Marx. The song reached number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 16, 2003, becoming Vandross' final Top 40 hit. The song comes from the good times Vandross shared with his late father, Luther Vandross, Sr., when he was a child and they would dance with each other. "Dance With My Father" was the last top 40 hit for the late Luther Vandross in his homeland, U.S., peaking at 38. The song also peaked at 21 in the UK. As of Saturday 29 August 2009 the song re-entered the top 40 after a performance of the song on the British hit TV show X Factor by Joe McElderry. The song entered the UK Singles Chart on the 20th December 2009 at number 48, just outside the Top 40.

"Don't Know Why" is a jazz song written by Jesse Harris and originally appears on his 1999 album, Jesse Harris & the Ferdinandos. It was the second single by Norah Jones from her breakthrough 2002 album Come Away with Me. Although Jones's version only peaked at number thirty on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, it was a critical success for her that helped established her as a respected new artist, and subsequently her album sold extremely well. The single went on to win three Grammy Awards in 2003 for "Record of the Year", "Song of the Year", and "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance". The song charted at 459 in Blender magazine's 500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born.

"Fallin'" won three Grammy Awards in 2002, including Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and was also nominated for Record of the Year.

It was a commercial success, helping launch the album to multi-platinum status, and is one of U2's biggest hits to date. Like many tracks from All That You Can't Leave Behind, "Beautiful Day" harkens back to the group's past sound. The song received positive reviews, and it became their fourth number-one single in the UK and their first number-one in the Netherlands. The song peaked at number 21 in the United States, the band's highest position since "Discothèque" in 1997. In 2001, the song won three Grammy Awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Busy and Tiring

It's been a very busy week again as usual. Managing my time as a student and as a part time worker is really not that easy. It is actually a bit pressuring and tiring and this week, i guess i will be more busy because i have finish my Thesis. Professor Capinpin gave us the deadline of submission and unfortunately I have nothing yet. I just don't know when and how to start. I have tried asking my classmates but it seems that they are very busy too and now i have to start from scratch and i have to hurry in order to meet the deadline.
Aside from my Thesis, mom is also asking me to look for someone to fix our plumbing system. For some reason the water just stop draining all of the sudden from the faucet which causes us a lot of trouble. Mom is too busy with her Tamales business and she really need that faucet to work in order to wash her Tamales ingredients. I bet she will not dare take water from the bathroom for her to wash the foods. We suspect that there is something wrong with the plumbing system. Maybe something stocked in the pipe or something.
Now, it added more pressure on me because i have to find someone to repair it. Of course, i just can't hire anyone because as much as possible we want to get good service from them. If i could just find something like the professional Plumber Portland Or has. I'm sure the problem will be fixed in no time.
Wish me luck guys, i hope i can get through all of this. Sobs.

SMOOTH ~ SANTAN feat. ROB THOMAS

"Smooth" is a collaboration between Santana and Rob Thomas of the rock group Matchbox Twenty. The song was written by Rob Thomas and Itaal Shur and sung by Thomas. Originally conceived by Shur as a song called "Room 17", the lyrics were stripped off and the track was given to Thomas. Thomas re-wrote the lyrics and melody and re-titled it "Smooth". Thomas acknowledged that his choice of lyrics was "mostly ironic". Thomas' original thought was to have George Michael sing the song. Thomas recorded the song as a demo to play for Santana. After hearing the song being sung by Thomas, Santana decided to have Thomas record the final version. Matt Serletic produced the record and it was released from Carlos Santana's album Supernatural and became a massive hit in 1999, entering the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 on August 10, 1999, and spending twelve weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 beginning October 12, 1999. It was the first chart-topping song in Santana's long-running career (his previous biggest hit being "Black Magic Woman", number four in 1971). According to some charting standards,"Smooth" is Billboard's most popular song of all time. Though some songs have spent longer than 12 weeks at number one, when combining total sales during the entire time the song has charted, "Smooth" ranks higher than any other. The song was the last number one hit of the 1990s. The song won three Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. It spent a record-breaking ten consecutive weeks at the top of the VSpot Top 20 Countdown, a record that held up until the Dixie Chicks broke it in 2006.
