"Little Green Apples" is a country song written by Bobby Russell. The version by O. C. Smith, from the album Hickory Holler Revisited, peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the R&B chart. It also received a gold record from the RIAA for sales of one million records. Other artists to have charting versions of this song in the United States were Roger Miller, on his album A Tender Look at Love, and Patti Page, on her album Gentle on My Mind, both in 1968; Miller's rendition also charted in the United Kingdom. "Little Green Apples" won Russell the 1969 Grammy Award for Song of the Year and the Grammy Award for Best Country Song.
